I recently read Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks. I have to say, this was a fantastic read. I'm already fascinated by plague in Medieval Europe, and have read many books on the subject. But this took a fictional perspective of a woman living in Eyam, a very famous plagued village in England. I won't delve into too much detail, but I think the author captured very realistic feelings, reactions, and imagery in this story. I highly recommend it.
